GM Ripple stated in an appearance that Ripple has been talking to global banks about CBDCs for a long time.

Ripple is in contact with central banks.

Asheesh Birla, Ripple’s general manager, recently spoke with Thinking Crypto on a variety of subjects, including how the firm is pursuing its CBDC goals. Ripple has been in talks with global banks for a long time, according to Birla, who believes that the Ripple Network’s speed makes it a perfect match for the purpose. Ripple is also talking to banks about other technologies, according to Birla. He expressed his optimism by saying:

“I believe that more and more central banks across the globe will see some of these advantages. It won’t happen overnight, once again. We want to develop and acquire traction.”

Pilot Project Ripple

In March of this year, Ripple announced the launch of a private ledger pilot program. The Private XRPL[XRP Ledger] will be built on the same technology as the already operational Public XRPL. According to the statement, private XRPL banks across the globe will be able to not only transfer money but also establish CBDCs using the Private XRPL platform. Ripple asserted:

“The fundamental technology underpinning this new CBDC Private Ledger has been operating without issue for more than 8 years, transacting billions of dollars every day,” says the company.

Furthermore, 80 percent of central banks are contemplating the introduction of CBDCs, according to Ripple. Ripple has basically pitched itself as a way to connect several unique and far-flung currencies, such as the US dollar and the Euro. In the most recent move in this respect, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse is said to have met privately with the head of the Brazilian central bank.

Various independent experts have already said that Ripple and XRP are being considered by many central banks for the launch of their CBDCs.
